Lunch and Learn: IFS & Perinatal Grief

Working with Perinatal Grief Using Internal Family Systems

Starts Jul 8Zoom

Available spots

Service Description

Grief is one of the most common — and most varied — experiences in the perinatal population. It shows up in birth stories that didn't go as hoped, in the loss of a former self or body, in fertility challenges, pregnancy loss, time stolen by a PMAD, and in the quiet reshaping of relationships and identity that new parenthood brings. IFS offers a non-pathologizing way to work with grief: not as something to resolve, but as a part to build a relationship with from Self. In this Lunch & Learn, we'll explore how to distinguish grief wounds from trauma wounds, what it looks like when grief surfaces after an unburdening, and how IFS integrates with grief approaches you're already using.
