Parts In Transition: IFS Training for Perinatal Providers

This training program utilizes the Internal Family Systems (IFS) model to support perinatal mental health practitioners. It aims to equip professionals with the tools to understand and work with the internal parts of clients experiencing the challenges of fertility journeys, perinatal loss, pregnancy and early parenthood. This program helps professionals connect with their own "Self" and understand how parts impacted by trauma, stress, or societal pressures might emerge during the perinatal period.

Key Learning Outcomes

By the conclusion of this workshop, participants will gain a solid understanding of the Internal Family Systems (IFS) model and practical ways to integrate it into their work with clients. They will learn techniques to support clients in exploring their internal system, unblending and unburdening wounded parts, and restoring those parts to their natural roles of supporting the Self. In addition, participants will have opportunities to deepen their awareness of their own parts and internal system throughout the training.

The skills gained during the workshop can be applied directly in client care, including:

Using IFS in your Psychotherapeutic Work: Understanding how IFS can be used to treat perinatal mood and anxiety disorders and perinatal trauma The ability to use IFS as a psychotherapeutic model with clients in the Perinatal Population.

Understanding Perinatal Parts and Wounds: The ability to conceptualize the development of perinatal parts and wounds through an IFS lens.

Conceptualizing your Therapist Parts: Getting to know your therapist parts and how to connect to Self. Exploring the difference between compassion and empathy and how connecting to Self and a compassionate approach can prevent therapist burnout.
