A healthy baby doesn’t always mean a healed parent: IFS for birth trauma

Service Description

A healthy baby doesn’t always mean a healed parent. Many clients leave a difficult birth hearing they should feel grateful, while parts of them are still hurting, unheard, or grieving the birth they expected. Birth trauma is often less about a single event than about what it meant: the loss of control, the moments no one listened, the feeling of being alone in the room. And it rarely stays in the past, resurfacing in the postpartum months, at the next pregnancy, or at the next medical appointment. In this one-hour Lunch & Learn, we’ll look at how IFS offers a paced, parts-based way to approach birth trauma without requiring clients to retell every detail. You’ll see how to honour the protectors that have kept your client going, make room for the grief, fear, and shame underneath, and keep your client grounded and in charge of the process.
